Hiring a freelance technical editor
Published about 1 month ago • 1 min read
Hi Reader -
Quick note today because we are growing and I need the right support in place.
I am currently hiring a Technical Editor to work on content related to machine learning, analytics, applied data topics, and doing data science with AI tools. This role is for someone who has substantial experience in these areas and who also cares deeply about clarity, structure, and strong editorial flow.
This is for the 4th edition of Data Science for Dummies which is due in May 2026. The work involves doing QA of concepts and demos shared within the pages of the book.
What I am looking for:
Background in machine learning, analytics, or data focused work
Experience writing or editing editorial style content such as blogs, essays, or thought leadership
Strong instincts for clarity, structure, and narrative
Comfort working asynchronously and giving direct, constructive feedback
The contract will be with my publisher, Wiley. The budget for this project is $2,000.
If this sounds like you, or someone you know who would be a strong fit, please reply directly to this email with a short introduction, your LinkedIn URL, and any relevant writing or editorial samples. If you have a CV, please send it.
Thank you!
